Sam is the concerned proper “clean cut” dad who plays by the rules and wants his ducks in a straight row. Wouldn’t trust god with his kids.(I mean the man took a plunger to his head once). Goes serial killer to Dr. Phil in 0.2 seconds, and right back to serial killer “cool” when shit hits the fan.
Dean is the “up an at em’ kid!” kind of dad, who wants his kids to kick their monsters in the ass, but if they get badly hurt he’ll have their heads for breakfast and let their squad know they’re dessert just to let some steam off.
